Senior Editor, Enthusiast Group

Job Description

Hearst Enthusiast Group (Runner's World, Bicycling, Popular Mechanics, and Best Products) is seeking a Senior Editor to join its Features Team. This editor will develop and execute longform stories across all channels of the Enthusiast brands-primarily web and print, but potentially video and social too.

The ideal candidate will use their experience in enterprise journalism and longform narrative feature writing/editing to identify and develop stories that garner acclaim within and beyond our endemic communities and contribute to the Enthusiast Group's print, Apple News+, and membership goals.

This role is based in Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley or New York City. We will not be able to consider remote candidates. For consideration, resumes must be submitted in PDF format with a cover letter, salary requirements, and a link to a portfolio of work.

What You'll Do:
• Use data and metrics to identify features that drive membership conversions and AN+ revenue across all Enthusiast Group brands
• Execute features to the highest level of excellence
• Work with emerging and best-in-class writers, photographers, and other creators to tell diverse stories while hitting budget and deadline targets
• Collaborate with Enthusiast Group team members to elevate storytelling across all channels

Who You Are:
• You have five or more years of relevant professional experience at a consumer magazine, website, or newspaper;
• Combine a deep editing and writing background with an affinity for running and/or cycling, as well as an innate curiosity for how the world works;
• An ability and willingness to use data to inform creative decisions;
• A flair for impactful heds/deks, and an obsession with story structure;
• An endless supply of ideas.
