Your impact:
Esquire is looking for a Senior eCommerce Editor with a passion for discovering, testing, and writing about products our readers will love. We're looking for someone who will be excited about developing strategic insights to create best-in-class recommendations that will help our community discover staff-tested products.
This person will work with the editorial team to write, edit, and produce detailed and accurate content around product reviews, gift guides, sales & deals coverage, and relevant consumer news. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and a strong writer with a hands-on approach to identifying and testing the latest gear-including tech and fitness products, kitchen gadgets, furniture, bikes, even cars.

What you'll do:
• Edit staff- and freelancer-contributed shopping stories highlighting the testing and product expertise of the Esquire editorial staff
• Write and update product content in a way that is voice-y, search-optimized and smartly packaged
• Work with Hearst's central affiliate sales team on sales & deals coverage, including editing and producing original content for high-performing sales holidays like Black Friday
• Track performance of commerce content in order to conceive, plan and execute new areas of growth
• Stay on top of breaking news, consumer alerts, trends, new products, and the latest buzzy stuff happenings in the product space
• Work with the photo, design, and video teams to optimize product stories with original imagery, graphics, video, and more
• Supervise junior staff and assist in their professional development and growth
Who you are:
• At least 3 years' experience in e-commerce editorial, marketing, or creative services
• Strong editing, reporting, and writing skills
• Have a talent for digging up the coolest and most interesting products, as well as finding original reporting angles when it comes to consumer news
• Someone who understands analytics, and can translate them into editorial action - familiarity with Google Analytics, Looker, Skimlinks,
or similar reporting tools is key
• A whiz when it comes to SEO best practices
• Experience producing or hosting multimedia and/or knowledge of video and social platforms a plus
• A team player who is proactive, organized, enthusiastic, and deadline-oriented, and is willing to pitch in whenever needed
