Job Description
Hearst Magazines is looking for a detail-oriented, highly organized, creative publicist to join the Communications & PR team.
The ideal candidate will be able to quickly prioritize, meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will have 2-4 years of experience supporting a PR team (agency preferred), strong writing and social-media skills. Good judgment, the ability to plan ahead and work efficiently, and a positive attitude are essential.
The Communications and Public Relations team is responsible for driving internal communications and consumer and trade publicity for Hearst Magazines and its portfolio of brands. This role reports to the Executive Director of PR and supports PR efforts across multiple brands, including ELLE, Good Housekeeping, Oprah Daily and Town & Country.
Resonsibilities:
What you'll do
• Support team responsible for generating positive media coverage for the editorial content and business initiatives of Hearst Magazines brands;
• Write press releases and pitches for broadcast, online and print media;
• Source products and assist with logistics for broadcast segments;
• Develop and manage media lists;
• Monitor coverage and prepare media reports, impact reports, and more;
• Monitor and research speaking engagement opportunities, awards and industry events;
• Provide on-site PR support at Hearst Magazines events.
Qualifications:
Who you are:
• You have 2-4 years in-house or agency PR experience with a concentration in lifestyle and/or luxury/fashion.
• You have exceptional writing and editing skills and apply attention to detail in all areas
• You have relationships with media organizations and journalists
• You possess a deep knowledge of traditional, digital, and social media channels
• You have experience managing onsite events and are comfortable working with executives and brand talent
• You have excellent communication, critical thinking and organizational skills
• You are a team player
This role requires the position to be located in New York City with an in-office presence of 3 days a week.
The base salary for this role is between $56,000 to $62,000 annually. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
