Job Description
TITLE: Lead Engineer

DUTIES: Hearst Magazine Media Inc seeks Lead Engineer in New York, NY to lead a team of engineers in writing, testing, debugging code for our Node/React/Next.js application. Work and collaborate with other leads to drive delivering high-quality work. Manage and mentor a small group of software engineers, serve as SME, and resolve issues or concerns brought by engineering team members. Communicate technical direction with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Define and estimate the work that the team commits to. Participate in all scrum ceremonies (host and organize as needed).

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation: utilizing programming languages including JavaScript, PHP; developing software utilizing HTML and CSS; working with Node.js., React.js. environments; utilizing technologies including Rest APIs and GraphQL; testing and debugging end-to-end Universal JavaScript applications with Jest; enforcing automation in building, testing and deployment of applications with the CI/CD processes; and supporting software development lifecycle utilizing Agile and Scrum processes. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master's degree in the above listed fields and three (3) years of experience in the above listed skills.
