Job Description
Your impact:

Cosmopolitan is looking for a fashion editor/writer to create trend-driven, thought-provoking, and fun content across all our platforms (including print and digital) and to help guide the overall fashion direction and strategies for Cosmo. Our fashion coverage ranges from reported pieces on the industry to highlighting of-the-moment (and, yes, maybe outrageous) trends. Along with having a deep knowledge of fashion and how it intersects with pop culture, we also keep it lighthearted (a big NO to low-rise jeans) and, above all, make sure our content feels accessible to all. Please note: For consideration, resumes must be submitted in PDF format with a cover letter, salary requirements, and a link to a portfolio of work.

What you'll do:
• Pitch and produce daily digital posts, as well as edit digital posts by the shopping assistant and/or freelancer(s)
• Top-edit and compose fashion content (digital and print) ranging from product roundups to service-focused features
• Assign fashion stories to outside contributors as well as in-house staffers; recruit new voices to the brand
• Work with the fashion features director to set lineups and pitch a variety of content across categories
• Write fashion articles; interview experts, ensure market selections meet diversity goals, work with affiliates, translate any industry jargon into a clear takeaway for the reader
• Collaborate with art and photo teams to help produce fashion layouts
• Help work with the business team on advertising/marketing partnerships and projects as necessary
• Take market appointments and represent Cosmo at press appointments/events/trips when schedule permits
• Help create social media content (Instagram, TikTok, etc.) when necessary, to bring our content to life beyond print and the website
• Take the lead if needed on projects such as newsletters, social media packages, etc.

Who you are:
• You have about 3 years of post-grad experience editing and/or writing for a publication, with a particular emphasis on fashion content; cross-platform experience is a plus
• You bring deep knowledge of fashion, fashion trends, and the industry
• You are comfortable and confident writing for print and for digital
• You are knowledgeable about SEO best practices and able to utilize Google Analytics or other tools
• You are passionate about developing 360-degree ideas (digital, print, social, experiential) around fashion
• You have strong reporting skills; a degree in journalism is a plus
• You are a true multi-tasker who can work under deadlines (including super tight ones)
