Your impact:

Town & Country is looking for a print and digital designer to join our tight-knit team . The ideal candidate will possess a high level of design sophistication, an eye for detail, and the ability to consistently meet deadlines with inspiring ideas and a great attitude. You will work closely with the art and photo departments, editors, and digital team to see stories through from concept to execution, so you must possess a collaborative spirit and be able to manage multiple projects at once. What you'll do:
• Collaborate with the art department, photo editors, and text editors to design front-of-book and back-of-book pages
• Ensure all assigned pages are consistent with the visual direction of the magazine
• Participate and pitch ideas in visual meetings with editors, photo editors, and the art department
• Order hi-res images from the photo department and mark up images for retouching on assigned pages
• See assigned pages through the entire production process from concept to completion of shipping the pages to the printer
• Keep magazine wall/page plan up-to-date
• Share the cover and cover story images with staff and PR for cover breaks
• Make Instagram and web-ready jpgs for editorial team when an issue is complete
• Help editors with any print-to-digital stories and review for any design suggestions
• Assist digital team in the creation of any special lead images needed
• Review Apple News build for any design issues before it goes online

Who you are:
• You have 2 to 3 years of post-grad design experience (preferably print and digital) at a media company, consumer brand, or magazine
* You know how to take direction and work quickly, independently, and efficiently under pressure, handling multiple projects and maintaining a calm attitude
• You have excellent communication skills and experience talking through editorial ideas in a lively, collaborative environment
• You think editorially and can partner with editors on solutions
• You have strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage priorities and follow workflow
* You have a sophisticated visual sense and can keep the visual identity of the magazine and site consistent
• You have expertise in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Pre-production, magazine workflow, and site experience is a plus
