Job Description
Hearst Television is seeking a Creative Executive to join its streaming services team. This role will work with internal and external production groups on content development and production for the streaming platform Very Local. Very Local provides local news and original programming across 26 US markets. This role will procure and oversee projects to support each of these markets. The ideal candidate will supervise producers and production companies, provide creative oversight in the development of original series production, and oversee multiple projects at a time through paper development to final delivery. The Creative Executive will act as a key creative stakeholder with other departments including, but not limited to Production, Marketing, Scheduling, Product and Business and Legal Affairs. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge and passion for news and lifestyle programming, have excellent storytelling skills and understand the nuances in programming for local markets.

Responsibilities
• Lead multiple projects across multiple markets in various stages of development, from first pitch to series order.
• Manage all creative aspects of development, casting, production, and post-production.
• Develop and manage relationships with production companies in local markets.
• Identify producers and production companies in multiple markets, negotiate partnership terms and manage contract process.
• Seek out and assess proposals, presentations, decks, scripts, and pitches.
• Pitch and develop new projects internally.
• Identify talent and outside IP for development
• Provide timely, coherent, structured feedback and notes to producers throughout the production process.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (Production, Product, Marketing, Legal, etc.) from inception of a project to the successful launch of the content.
• Source national and local content to license/acquire, negotiate terms, and work with legal team on content acquisition deals.
• Analyze competitors and formats.
• Track competitive development slates.
• Prepare materials including decks, sizzles, presentations, etc.
• Support and lead special projects as the business needs arise.

Basic Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience as a creative executive in unscripted development.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent storytelling skills.
• Experience overseeing all creative aspects of development production and post-production.
• Experience with content licensing and acquisitions.
• Field production experience.
• In depth relationships with creators/writers/producers, production companies and talent agencies.
• Experience in project management; capacity to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously with competing timelines
• Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment, on tight deadlines.
• Experience developing unscripted shows for both digital and television audiences.
• Experience in production across a variety of genres and programming styles.
• Experience managing and tracking costs, budgets, and production schedules.
• Understanding of streaming business landscape.
