We create, package, and sell products with cutting-edge technology and proprietary platforms. Together, we are reinventing publishing for the 21st century.

Your impact:

Make your home your happy place-that's our motto at HGTV Magazine. With a fun, friendly approach, we spotlight real homes across the country, sharing tons of creative, doable ideas, from curb appeal boosts to pretty paint colors. We inspire readers to create a home they love, providing real-life solutions in an upbeat, engaging way. We also shine a spotlight on the top HGTV stars, who provide tips and helpful advice in every issue. HGTV Magazine has a loyal 1M+ subscribers and is a top-10 best-selling monthly magazine on newsstands. We are now looking for a copy editor to join our team. Our ideal candidate is an experienced wordsmith and has a passion for home and lifestyle content (and, of course, HGTV). Please note: For consideration, resumes must be submitted in PDF format with a cover letter and salary requirements.

What you'll do:
• Copy-edit and proofread all editorial material-print magazine pages, social posts, newsletters, tablet editions, presentations, etc.-reviewing the changes with editors, writers and fact-checkers as necessary
• Assign out stories for fact-checking with a team of freelance researchers, keeping them on deadline and working closely with them and the editors to enter in necessary corrections
• Manage editorial changes through all stages of production by entering corrections into the electronic files and troubleshooting any copy and fit problems as they arise
• Thoroughly read through and correct product credits to reflect our in-house style

Who you are:
• You have 3+ years of professional copyediting experience, preferably in the home and/or lifestyle space
• You're excited to work on a brand with a fun, lively, conversational tone and lots of product credits
• You are deeply knowledgable about grammar, spelling, usage, and punctuation, and are able to work quickly and accurately on tight deadlines
• You're highly organized and can multitask assignments
• You're creative and love to come up with new ideas
• Familiarity with InCopy and Woodwing is a plus
