Job Description
Your Impact:

Cosmopolitan is looking for an Associate Sex and Relationships editor who will use their experience in reporting, writing, and editing to produce compelling content across print and digital platforms. This editor will join an ambitious team that runs our highest-performing and (humblebrag alert) most iconic category. In this role, they'll interview dating experts and doctors, parse essay pitches, and cover sex and relationships news and trends. Their work will help support the late-night googler looking to fill the many, many gaps in their high school sex education; the single person unpacking the frustratingly complex nuances of online dating; and the millions of other readers who trust Cosmopolitan to empower them with the information they need, right when they need it. This position reports to our articles director.

What You'll Do
• Pitch, write, and edit smart, engaging, and timely content across the print magazine and website
• Recruit and guide a diverse group of freelance writers with varying perspectives
• Help execute the section's SEO needs, producing dynamic, informative stories and conducting routine updates to existing content
• Drive at the sex and relationships section's e-commerce goals
• Work with the team to strategically experiment with other ways to boost traffic, engage readers, and build buzz, pushing forward Cosmopolitan's longtime role as a thought leader in this space
• Produce long-lead digital features and packages
• Work on relevant brand projects and extensions as needed (such as videos, events, podcasts, emerging platforms, and our membership program)

Who You Are
• You're an editor with 3 to 5 years of digital and print editorial experience, primarily in the sex and relationships space
• You have a strong understanding of the sex and relationships landscape, relevant trends, and exactly what people are talking about at any given moment-and you know how to turn that knowledge into incredible content
• You have an ability to really dig into research and reporting (including for topics that are either medical or sensitive in nature) with proven accuracy
• You have a network of superstar sex- and relationships-focused freelancers and expert sources to tap for stories
• You're able to write in the Cosmopolitan voice (including in your cover letter; cough cough, hint hint) and coach other writers you work with to do the same
• You have a deep knowledge of analytics tools like Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, Skimlinks, and Looker, and you know how to use them to inform editorial decisions
• You're a team player
