Job Description
We're looking for an Associate Quality Assurance Engineer that will ensure our websites and editorial tools work as intended. Our QA engineers become knowledgeable in the experiences of readers and editors so that they can prioritize the features and flows that are most critical. QA engineers use their knowledge of the publishing process and foundational technical skills to find potential problems before they become major issues.
You'll be a trusted advisor in the software development process, keeping a pulse on quality, and advocating for intuitive and smooth digital experiences for our readers. As part of the Product Testing and Accessibility team, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with other QA engineers and mold the team's ways of working. This position is available to be remote.
Resonsibilities:
• Test code changes at various stages of development and deployment to ensure bugs are identified on our applications across various devices and browsers
• Run automated tests and create and maintain automated tests with guidance
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and program managers to define a testing strategy for new and existing features and participate in discussions to prioritize issues
• Document test plans, test cases, and results
• Engage in agile ceremonies
Qualifications:
• You love finding bugs and documenting them and take pride in uncovering issues before they become production problems.
• You're knowledgeable about manual testing and are open to learning about automated testing.
• You can empathize with our readers and their experiences.
• You can enjoy learning about all parts of digital media.
• You have 2+ years of software experience.
• Bonus: You have experience with Jira and GitHub or similar tools.
The base salary for this role is between $74,000 to $89,000 annually. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
