VP Media Relations

Job Description

THE JOB:

The Vice President, Media Relations, HBO & HBO Max, will report to the EVP, Communications for HBO and HBO Max. They will work across teams to manage external communications, including executive and crisis messaging.

THE DAILY:
• Oversee trade announcements, working closely with programming, business affairs and external creative partners.
• Oversee editorial and publicity services team responsible for press site, maintaining press lists, materials, trade list submissions and distribution of assets.
• Identify and prioritize initiatives for festival opportunities and awards editorial. Identify strategic opportunities and manage corporate communications for the executive team.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across WarnerMedia to maximize cross-functional strategy and awareness.
• Develop strong working relationships with creative talent, producers, and representatives. Provide support and guidance for direct reports.

THE ESSENTIALS:
• 12+ years of experience working in entertainment publicity, with a deep understanding of the entertainment landscape and media trends.
• Strong contacts with the press and within the media/entertainment industry.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; proven ability to manage staff and build strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with an ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Must be committed to the success of the team.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
