The Job

Home Box Office, Inc. seeks a Senior Technical Program Manager for the Technical Program Management department.

As a senior technical program manager focused on global expansion, you will execute feature delivery across multiple software development teams in support of bringing HBO Max to new users across the globe. You'll work cross-functionally with product management, experience design, engineering, quality assurance, and release management to understand strategy, requirements, and technical implementation details. You'll drive key program deliverables, communicate regularly with stakeholders, and manage dependencies, risks, and escalations. You will play a critical role in coordinating work across numerous teams to deliver on an ambitious, multi-year roadmap of global launches.

The Daily

In this role, you will help us to:
• Lead cross-cutting technology initiatives to bring HBO Max to additional markets across the globe
• Guide regional launches through the delivery cycle, including kicking off new work, development, testing, and launch readiness
• Work with cross-functional teams to define and schedule work to develop key features
• Formulate a point of view on how proposed features align with business goals and our tech strategy
• Evaluate implementation options and drive technical conversations with partners and engineering teams
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement with each new launch

The Essentials

To be successful in this role, you will need:
• 5+ years of experience in technical program management or a similar role (e.g., product management, technical project management)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to target communications up, down, and across the organization and to external partners
• Systems thinking and a strong sense of ownership to drive complex programs with interdependencies that require definition from the ground up
• Ability to toggle between big-picture planning and tactical execution
• Proven track record of delivering services or applications into multiple markets
• First-rate project management skills, including the ability to balance multiple, sometimes competing, priorities with date-driven timelines and a solid understanding of risk management
• Emotional intelligence and leadership skills to influence outcomes, while building a culture of teamwork and inclusiveness
• Familiarity with digital subscription products and device partner platforms
• Strong technical aptitude to quickly come up to speed on new problem spaces and understand impacts to the program overall
• Experience with agile software development methodologies
