Senior Broadcast Systems Support Analyst (EMEA)

Purpose of the Role

This role supports various EMEA broadcast management applications and databases critical to the 24x7x365 WarnerMedia linear and non-linear services across all HBO and Turner brands. Responsibilities will include supporting applications, supporting services, contributing towards projects delivery is the following areas: scheduling, content and metadata supply chains.

Areas of Responsibility

MAJOR ACTIVITIES

Broadcast Management Application Support & Reporting
L1/L2 support across key broadcast management & supply chain systems in EMEA, in alignment with APAC and US domestic. This includes (but is not limited to) the business user support teams across rights management, linear and non-linear scheduling, metadata, and airtime sales as well as defining and managing the systems upgrades.

Perform support activities including across databases and some software development. Must be able to do performance tuning, database backups &restores, and write scripts & reports.

Support packaged and proprietary applications by responding to customer requests for assistance, documenting the problems and actions taken using appropriate tracking tools, coordinating with other team members as necessary to resolve the problem, and communicating resolution to the customer and other appropriate parties in a timely manner. May provide 24 hour on-call customer support, as necessary for critical production issues that occur outside normal business hours as notified by phone or page.

Support by identifying and researching problems and collaborating with subject matter experts to correct and proactively prevent further problems by recommending and/or implementing bug-fixes, application enhancements, database tuning or other measures.

Support by assisting with the execution of daily user administration tasks and by providing instructions which enable the customer to take ownership of processes better handled at the end user level

Assist in the creation, testing, and execution of Business Continuity Plans.

Work with management, software developers, analysts, and/or external consultants to create technical designs and document technical specifications including capacity planning, cost/benefit analysis, and project plans.

Create architecture diagrams, document processes and procedures, and create presentations regarding database implementations and/or enhancements.

Maintain database security policy and provide periodical database access reports in order to full fill SOX and other compliance audits.

Business Analysis

Perform general business analysis activities on projects of medium size/length/risk, such as gathering and documenting business rules, user workflow, and system functional requirements.

Create documents and presentations to prepare for the impact of application changes, enhancements, or implementations.

Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to determine and prioritize their business and system requirements. Document and analyze requirements (e.g. business system, security, conversion, and report) to determine feasibility and recommend business process improvements where appropriate. Perform walkthroughs and/or prototype demonstrations.

Work with software developers and/or vendors to create functional design and document technical specifications.

Areas of Accountability

Responsible for the provision of a support service for broadcast management applications & services across EMEA:
• Linear scheduling
• Non-linear scheduling
• Ad sales & invoicing
• Metadata management
• Rights management

Selection criteria

DESIRABLE
• At least 5 years experience supporting a broadcast management application, including applications such as WhatsOn, Vision, Landmark, Movida, Rightsline
• Delivery of business change and improvement projects
• At least 3 years in enterprise database administration (RDBMS : Oracle, SQLServer), Experience with relational databases and queries
• Knowledge of Cloud computing
• Proficient skills using the MS Office suite and process modeling and reporting tools (e.g., SQLServer reports, Crystal)
• Experience with client-server architecture, Web Enabled Applications, and SOA
• Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Microsoft .NET technologies, BEA Weblogic, Netbackup Veritas, Java technologies
