Podcast Producer - HBO & HBO Max (Freelance)

The Job

Warner Media is looking for a candidate to work on the development and production of podcasts across a range of titles. The Freelance Podcast Producer will work as part of the Marketing Production and Operations team to develop new podcasts, work with internal and external partners, and be hands-on in the production of in-house podcasts. This role will work on new and existing shows from HBO, HBO Max, and across the archive.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of experience in audio content development and/or production for podcasts or radio. Candidates will work seamlessly and communicate with multiple departments such as programming, marketing, operations, financial strategy and legal, etc. The candidate must be ready to hit the ground running and juggle multiple projects at once.

The Daily
• Work hand-in-hand with other Warner Media teams on the development of podcasts.
• Assist in the planning of an overall podcast slate.
• Partner with external groups on the production of podcasts, providing detailed instructions and feedback.
• Outline, plan, supervise recording, and edit straightforward ''talk'' podcasts.
• Review the performance of and sentiment surrounding podcasts with a critical eye.

The Essentials
• 4+ years' experience in audio content development, production and management, with a primary focus on podcasts, terrestrial or satellite radio, or a similar audio medium
• Preferably based in the Los Angeles area, but not required
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Proficiency in audio mixing and studio recording.
• Knowledge of sound recording and ability to troubleshoot in studio environments.
• Working knowledge of podcast recording software, equipment, best practices, and other tools of the trade.
• A passion for creating excellent, entertaining content.
• Strong communication (written, verbal, presentation) and collaboration skills.
• Proactive, organized, efficient, detail-oriented, unassailable focus on the basics, accountable, enthusiastic, able to follow detailed instructions.
• Ability to balance multiple, competing directions and manage multiple projects successfully
• Ability to meet all deadlines and work independently.
• Avid podcast consumer.
