Job Description

The Role

In this role you will provide paralegal support to the Production Legal team, WarnerMedia International EMEA (including Warner Bros. International Television Production, Local Theatrical Production, EMEA and HBO Europe).

The Daily
• Assisting with the preparation of quarterly Litigation and External Legal Spend Reports and other routine reporting across the Production Legal teams.
• Liaising with WarnerMedia's Compliance team in Burbank, US, to ensure that Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption policies are updated regularly.
• Assisting with the maintenance of the Anti-Bribery and Corruption training records and providing ABC training.
• Assisting with day-to-day queries, including providing precedents, details of local production services companies and external counsel as well as format, development, production agreements.
• Assisting with the maintenance of WarnerMedia protocols, production protocols for production teams (including areas such as anti-bribery and corruption, contributor care, data protection and editorial compliance)
• Reviewing agreements for the distribution of feature films (including production/co-production agreements, writer and actor agreements, and licenses relating to the clearance of third-party material. Additionally, collating and managing transaction documents relating to film production, distribution, and finance.
• Inserting rights information into the rights database, ensuring information is complete, up-to-date, and accurate.
• Managing, checking (with outside counsel, where necessary) and filing chain-of-title and delivery documentation.
• Managing and auditing delivery documentation relating to development and production projects.
• Assisting with restructuring of data retention, moving files from local lawyers into a central data repository.

The Essentials
• Law degree or equivalent qualification.
• Previous paralegal experience.
• Understanding of copyright and contract law.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Confidence to handle and escalate urgent issues.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail essential.
• The ability to manage a demanding workload and the expectations of multiple internal clients.

The Nice to Haves
• Previous media paralegal experience.
• Fluency in French would be an advantage.
