The Job

As a Manager Technical Program Manager, you will lead a team of Technical Program Managers to define, plan, and drive execution for HBO Max's online stream data processing pipelines. You will engage with leaders across the organization to guide usage of existing data systems, and within a cross functional development team to translate operational, marketing, data science, and analytical insight requirements into execution plans that meet the needs of the business. You will consult with engineering teams responsible for client and service teams on data creation, to enable service delivery insights, feature measurement, and integrations to internal and external data integrations.

HBO Max is going global, driving more complex data needs, data integrations, compliance considerations, all while decreasing data latency. You'll drive key program deliverables, communicate regularly with senior leadership, stakeholders, and manage dependencies, risks, and escalations. This role can work out of our NYC, Atlanta, Burbank, or Seattle offices.

The Daily
• Lead the development of execution plans and forecasts to evolve the HBO Max online stream processing used for operational services delivery insights
• Lead the development of execution plans and forecasts that meet the needs to internal groups utilizing offline data for product insights, analytics, data science, experimentation, and product experiences
• Collaborate and coordinate with data leaders across WarnerMedia ensuring alignment, and effective communications
• Work with cross-functional teams to intake, define, identify risks, and schedule work to develop key features in the data platform
• Formulate a point of view on how proposed features align with business goals and our tech strategy
• Understand how partner features are delivering value to our customers and business using service metrics and KPIs
• Meet Marketing needs to integrate with third party solutions for campaign and attribution

The Essentials
• 8+ years of experience in Technical Program Management or a similar role (e.g., product management, project management)
• 2+ years of experience leading teams and delivering results
• Analytical skills to dive into usage data and performance metrics to make both technical and business decisions
• Experience working with large scale data collection, processing, analysis systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to target communications to executive leadership, and across the organization and to external partners
• Systems thinking and a strong sense of ownership to drive complex programs with interdependencies that require definition from the ground up
• First-rate project management skills, including the ability to balance multiple, sometimes competing, priorities with date-driven timelines and a solid understanding of risk management
• Emotional intelligence to lead through influence, while building a culture of teamwork and inclusiveness
• Experience with agile software development methodologies

The Nice to Haves
• Familiarity working with experimentation, feature flighting, or A/B testing
• Familiarity with online streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, and Flink
• Familiarity with data store technologies
• Entertainment or media industry experience
• Familiar Jira/Confluence
• Ability to learn new development and productivity tools in order to continuously improve effectiveness
