Our Team We are the team providing the streaming platform technical operational support, guidance, and near real- time customer experience monitoring.
Our team is passionate, talented, and most importantly growing to meet the demand of our direct-to- consumer offerings. We are scaling our organization and expanding, enhancing, and defining our incident management, change management, service level tracking/management, security management practices, and relationship processes.

The JobAs a Director of Technical Operations at HBO Max, you will be working within a dynamic and growing organization. Helping to formulate an approach and style that compliments both new and existing operational process. Your software development and management skills will be key as you will help manage and define the visibility of our operational practices through our world class development team.
As a leader in the technical operations space for our global offering, you will work with teams that span the globe while coordinating, monitoring, and measuring our experiences globally.
The Daily

• Design, develop and implement a global operations support model (including roles/responsibilities, escalation paths, etc.) to manage global rollout of HBO Max
• Design, develop and implement a global operations readiness plan to support HBO Max roll out across multiple geographies (~200 countries)
• Work collaboratively with cross functional business/product/technical teams and infrastructure/cloud vendors to manage dependencies and identify/mitigate risks and issues
• Work collaboratively with infrastructure teams and vendors to identify and implement solutions to support growth projections and drive operational improvement initiatives
• Manage technical operations costs and lead initiatives to identify and drive cost efficiency efforts across infrastructure, tech ops, production support etc.
• Research, design, and develop projects that deliver cost effective services to support the company's business goals and objectives
• Work collaboratively with global operations teams and leadership to develop and implement tools, processes, and solutions to monitor and improve product quality/performance and customer experience
• Work collaboratively with leadership and global teams to drive operations roadmap strategy and definition
• Incorporate industry best practices in areas of digital video operations and establish best practices to assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance business needs versus constraints.
• Be the global operational leader and represent prioritized initiatives broadly throughout the organization
• Deliver an industry message through conferences, panels, and papers of our practices, tenets, and values. Further progressing our brand as being the best in the industry.
• Ability to understand large complex software systems and their interdependencies.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, comfortable communicating with their technical and non-technical colleagues and executives.
The Essentials
• In an international and broadly global context: 10+ Years managing, implementing and defining operational maturity into globally scaled Direct-to-Consumer offerings
• Strong understanding of video streaming infrastructure and operations
• Experience with digital video streaming and/or customer-facing user interfaces
• Experience using data and metrics to determine improvements
• Experience defining technical and production roadmaps and requirements
• Thrive on a diverse global team, think strategically, be detailed driven, understand systems architecture and workflows, and have excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Bring an ownership mindset to drive an execute critical initiatives
• A background in Software Development and leading technical teams within a product development environment.
• A ravenous appetite to learn, measure, and drive the best experiences in our industry.

• Operational experience in direct-to-consumer offerings in video content distribution or experienced based offerings.
