Warner Bros. Studio Operations is one of the foremost motion picture and television production and post-production facilities in the world. Physical production facilities on the historic 110-acre main lot in Los Angeles includes 31 soundstages, as well as a 20-acre backlot with 14 exterior sets capable of transforming into environments from a rainforest jungle to a bustling metropolis. The Studio offers a complete range of production-related services, including costume, property/set dressing, set design and construction, set lighting, grip, special effects, production catering, production sound and video, transportation, and the design studio, as well as a robust special events business.

In addition, the Studio Operations group is responsible for managing Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, a purpose built, state-of-the-art film and television studio offering one of the largest facilities in the UK. This 200-acre secure site has a half a million square feet of stage space, one of the largest heated underwater filming tanks in Europe and a 100 acre back-lot. It also owns Studio Set Lighting and Rigging - a rentals division, WB De Lane Lea - a post-production facility and Leavesden Park - a contemporary office complex. It is the only Hollywood owned studio of its calibre to be operated in the UK.

Worldwide Tours and Retail Destinations

Based at the same location as the Studios is Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter. It is the only place in the world to showcase the authentic sets, props, and behind-the-scenes secrets of the Harry Potter films at the location where they were made. It has attracted over 14 million visitors since opening in 2012 and has received over 40,000 reviews on TripAdvisor with 96% rating the experience as 'excellent' or 'very good'. Since launching, additions to the Studio Tour include Platform 9 ¾ featuring the Hogwarts Express, the Forbidden Forest, and Gringotts Wizarding Bank. Its sister tour in Hollywood offers guests an intimate view of the inner workings of a thriving motion picture and television studio. The latest addition to the experience is Stage 48: Script to Screen, a self-guided, interactive soundstage that explores each phase of the film and television production process. The newest addition to the Tours division is the Harry Potter Photographic Exhibition in London. Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter will open in 2023.

Studio Tours in London and Hollywood, the Worldwide Tours and Retail Destinations division has built on the Harry Potter/ Wizarding World IP with its experience of visitor engagement, exceptional customer service and innovative merchandise to extend its experiential retail business. The Role

In this role you will develop and manage the compliance, product safety and regulatory strategy, policies, and procedures for Warner Bros. Tours & Retail group, working across domestic and international territories. You will achieve this through engaging with internal stakeholders as well as suppliers to use supply chains and materials that are of the highest standard, be compliant with local and international legislation in each territory we work in and ensure appropriate testing is part of our product development process.

The Daily
• Create and update safety and regulatory compliance policies and standards for categories and products planned for sale across our international sites and ecommerce businesses. This includes cost effectiveness testing and due diligence requirements.
• Provide guidance and training across our group to educate the team on product safety, compliance, and regulatory guidelines as well as interpreting and communicating regulatory requirements across markets.
• Working with our buying and sourcing teams, conduct seasonal line reviews in addition to ensuring testing is conducted in a timely manner to allow products to hit the salesfloor to strict deadlines.
• Proactively look at compliance regulations in new territories as we expand our retail network and partner with relevant brands and suppliers on product safety and regulatory requirements impacting our territories. This includes ensuring all regulations relating to restricted substances in each market are complied with. For example, REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) regulations in the UK/EU, or CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement) in the USA.
• Support our creative, buying and production teams in packaging development to determine that our labelling has appropriate product safety regulatory and/or warning call outs and meets legal packaging specifications. Advising, reviewing and approve supplier test requirements and results
• Investigate in market quality issues and escalate as appropriate, identifying and proactively engaging business partners when issues arise with recommendations for viable options and solutions to support quality as well as preventing noncompliance
• Carry out risk assessments on high-risk product categories in partnership with our teams.
• Support our legal teams and senior management in responding to litigation and claims issues.
• Lead any implementation of recall policy across the group.
• Conduct market, competitor, and industry benchmarking relating to quality, product safety and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with Customer Service in responding to customer complaints.

The Essentials
• Experience in a multi-channel, multi-site retail organisation.
• Working knowledge of UK, European, and US legal, safety, and regulatory product requirements across a diverse product range, including baby and children's clothing, accessories, gifts, and toys.
• In the future this knowledge will need to extend to new territories including (but not limited to) Japan.
• Ability to demonstrate and discuss examples of policy and document creation.
• Able to develop, or have existing strong working relationships with applicable regulatory agencies, market organisations and test houses to ensure product compliance across existing and new markets.

Working Pattern

This role is full time (40 hours a week). Due to the varied nature of visitor attractions and our retail sites this may include working across multiple time zones.
