Job Summary/Description:
Gray Digital Media is seeking a Manager of Programmatic Media Buying to lead and mentor a team of programmatic traders and media buyers. In this role, you'll oversee campaign strategy, execution, and optimization across The Trade Desk and other DSPs, while ensuring client success and team growth. This manager will lead a fast-paced, client-focused agency team. This role is first and foremost about building, mentoring, and managing a high-performing team, while also ensuring excellence in programmatic execution and client satisfaction.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Team Leadership & Development
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of programmatic traders and media buyers
• Provide structured onboarding, continuous training, and regular performance reviews
• Foster a culture of growth, collaboration, and operational excellence
• Act as the team's primary advocate and resource, ensuring they have the tools and support to s/ucceed
Campaign Oversight
• Supervise programmatic campaign execution from strategy and setup through optimization and reporting across display, video, CTV, audio, gaming, DOOH, and other channels
• Ensure campaigns are delivered flawlessly in The Trade Desk and other DSPs, leveraging advanced tools such as custom bidding, audience management, deal IDs, and targeting capabilities
• Partner with client teams to align campaign tactics with broader strategies
Client Collaboration
• Represent the programmatic team on client and market calls as the senior expert
• Translate campaign results into clear, actionable insights and recommendations
• Build trust with clients through transparency, responsiveness, and effective communication
Process, Strategy & Innovation
• Standardize best practices for campaign execution, pacing, QA, and optimization
• Continuously refine workflows to improve efficiency and scalability
• Stay ahead of industry trends, DSP updates, and evolving best practices
• Champion new capabilities within The Trade Desk and other platforms, including Kokai, retail media integrations, and data marketplace tools
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 3+ years of programmatic media buying experience (display, video, audio, CTV, DOOH, etc)
- Extensive hands-on experience working within self-serve DSPs, including The Trade Desk.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret data. Experience leading and coaching.
