About Creative Services Team (Gray Media Group):
Gray Media's Premier Creative Services team provides nationwide marketing and advertising support for our stations. Our team works directly with national and local sales teams to develop industry-leading marketing solutions with a focus on expertise in their respective categories.
Job Summary/Description:
As part of the commercial production department, you will be the lead visual creative on set, representing the look, feel, and style for assigned commercial shoots. Working in collaboration with the producer, you will execute the creative vision using unique and high-quality storytelling techniques. Tasks include but are not limited to pre-visualization, gear preparation, location scouting, field production crew duties, and lead camera operation.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Create compelling visual stories
• Bring a project to life with lighting, framing, and connection to the subject
• Produce high-quality creative spots, promotions, product shots, and long-form videos
• Work with producers and clients to determine the creative feel for shoots
• Find and scout locations – assessing potential obstacles and issues that could arise
• Promote new techniques for filming and storytelling
• Monitor new equipment for our expanding production arsenal
• Troubleshoot and solve problems quickly and independently
• Travel around the country, capturing stories and bringing high-quality products to clients and companies around the country
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Degree in Broadcast and Film Production or equivalent relevant experience
• 5+ years of experience in this role or a similar role
• Ability to shoot for broadcast, short and long-form content, promotional support, social media, YouTube, and more
• Strong creative storytelling, shooting, and lighting skills
• A sharp eye for creative shooting and lighting style
• Exceptional knowledge of cameras, variable focal length and primes lenses, filters, lighting, sliders, car mounts, and gimbals/stabilizers (ability to shoot with a drone is a plus)
• Ability to shoot various frame rates and multiple digital formats
• Experience with audio recording and microphone set-up, including Boom and wireless mics
• Passion for gear, color profiles, codecs, formats, and new equipment
• Highly organized, ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent grammar and written communication skills
• Solid time management for self and production
• Flexible, positive attitude in the face of high-pressure and stressful situations
• An open mind and learning-oriented
• Working knowledge of the post-production process with Premiere is a plus
• The position must be able to travel at least 70% based on production schedules and location
