ACCOUNTING MANAGER - ACCOUNTING (GRAY MEDIA GROUP)

About Shared Services (Accounting):
Our Shared Services Accounting handles the accounting functions for all Gray owned and operated TV stations.

Job Summary/Description:

The Accounting Manager will oversee the financial operations of multiple television stations and supervise and train Station Accounting personnel. Duties include preparation of journal entries, cash-sheet reconciliations, financial statements, fixed asset reporting and annual budget preparation.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to)
• Works with station General Manager and department heads on weekly revenue and expense forecasting
• Inputs Pacing and Forecast information into Forecaster Tool, works with station staff and Shared Services staff on AR and AP issues
• Reviews and approves all Accounts Payable invoices and New Vendors; Works with stations on all capital projects
• Prepares and inputs all journal entries for each market; Prepares Sales Commissions for station Account Executives
• Prepares, reviews and analyzes financial statements and other financial data for each market; Prepares Annual Budget for each market, manages, oversees and trains stations accounting team
• Prepares, monitors, and analyzes balance sheet reconciliations, financial entries, budget and forecast
• Assists with the development, implantation and enforcement of proper accounting methods, policies & procedures

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Must have previous Accounting experience; Accounting or related degree preferred, qualified applicant must have strong technical & analytical skills
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-financial users with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must possess strong computer skills for a variety of computer applications including proficiency in Excel
• Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Must have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
