Studio Technician (Part-time Freelance)
WTTG Fox 5 News – Washington DC's #1 News Station with the most hours of local news - is looking for a talented and versatile Freelance Studio Technician to operate broadcast equipment in support of our top rated newscasts. The ideal candidate should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, live production control room and studio. The Freelance Studio Technician may perform various functions including, but not limited to, technical director, audio operator, robotic camera, and/or floor director. Solid understanding of live production environments, specifically news production, is required. Experience with automated control room environments is a plus. Ideal candidate will be able to take direction, think critically under pressure, and work professionally as part of a cohesive team within specific time constraints.
Qualifications: HS Diploma (or equivalent) required. College degree preferred. Minimum 3 years recent experience as a broadcast technician in a major to medium size market is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong abilities in some or most of these areas. WTTG/WDCA is a 24/7 operation. Varied shifts, OT, weekends & holidays will be required.
