JOB DESCRIPTION
Master Control Operator (Part-time Freelance)

WTTG Fox 5 News – Washington DC's #1 News Station with the most hours of local news - is looking for an experienced and dedicated Freelance Master Control Operator to provide operations support for our top rated newscasts and network programming. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working as part of a team in a fast-paced, live production environment. The Freelance Master Control Operator operates any or all of the following: automated playout systems, master control switchers, non-linear editing software, and other production support equipment. Proven ability to operate in live broadcast environments, specifically news production, is required. Ideal candidate will be able to take direction, think critically under pressure, and work professionally as part of a cohesive team within tight time constraints.

Qualifications: HS Diploma (or equivalent) required. College degree preferred. Minimum 3 years recent experience as a master control operator in a major to medium size market preferred. Experience operating in an automated environment a plus. WTTG/WDCA is a 24/7 operation. Varied shifts, OT, weekends & holidays will be required.
