JOB DESCRIPTION

The Media Management department at FOX Sports consists of a wide range of media-centric roles. We are responsible for managing the entire life cycle of Fox Sports media from ingest to archive, we support live shows both on-site & remote, as well as delivery of files and highlights. We are an expanding team that fulfills our business objectives while developing new solutions to continually improve the user experience and efficiency.

The Application Programming Interface (API) Development Manager will be responsible to build APIs and microservices to deliver quality services for FOX Sports. You should have a broad understanding of applications across multiple technologies including but not limited to experience with cloud architectures, Google Cloud, REST APIs and scripting languages to ensure the interoperability of our systems. You will construct API/Microservice diagrams and documentation as well as participate in production support and maintenance tasks. To be successful, one must know how to navigate ambiguity, have experience working with cloud and media technologies (e.g. Dalet, Levels Beyond, EVS, Pixit, Storenext, Adobe CC, Telestream Vantage, Apsera, AWS, Azure, Google etc), have technical depth, and enjoy working with peers and internal customers across functions

A SNAPSHOT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serve as the team's primary API developer, helping analyze complex business needs, document requirements, and design targeted workflows and tools
• Build workflows and indirectly manage a mixture of internal and third-party resources
• Support implemented workflows and products
• Complete documentation as required to support the project
• Travel to remote events as needed, such as, Super Bowl, World Cup, MLB All-Star game etc.
• Meet regularly with engineering and operational teams processing media to ensure implementation details are vetted and implementation progress is communicated
• Coordinate with departments for testing and use

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 3+ years of experience with the Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with media of some kind, including video, audio, photo, or other file types
• Familiarity with cloud-computing, APIs and the tools available from modern infrastructure providers, with a strong preference for knowledge of Google Cloud
• Experience creating and documenting test cases
• Development Background in Java/Python/Golang/scripting languages
• Experience with GKE, Cloud functions and Data flow
• Google App Engine, Open sources and cloud networking solutions
• Experience with Cloud based server less, storage and developer tools technologies
• Experience in DB schema design, SQL query profiling
• Outstanding communication skills
• Capability to work well under pressure, have ability to work weekends and holidays

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER
• Bachelor's degree
• Knowledge of enterprise-level Media Asset Management or Digital Asset Management systems and media-related WAN acceleration and file transfer orchestration tools, including Aspera and Signiant
• IaaC (Terraform)
• Experience working with software and software development teams to deliver products
