JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX News is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to provide top-layer support and maintenance to our large infrastructure of media and broadcast systems in a 24/7 live news environment. The Senior Systems Engineer works closely with multiple engineering teams and will assist in planning our transition to the next generation of media systems, storage, IP technologies, and compute architectures. The Senior Systems Engineer will help the team migrate to a more Virtual environment using various virtual applications and hardware solutions.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage large infrastructure of media and on-air broadcast systems
• Knowledge of planning and implementing environments using different virtual methodologies and hardware compliments
• Independently manage and implement projects while working with the other broadcast system engineers and IT teams
• Be part of a team that will assist in planning our transition to the next generation of media systems, storage, and compute architectures
• Assist in planning our transition to the next generation of broadcast network infrastructure and IP technologies
• Develop and document procedures and workflow processes
• Interface with vendors and manufacturers to research and address support issues, feature requests, create bug reports
• Implement and maintain standards and processes including rollout and support documentation for operational support
• Participate in on-call support rotation and provide remote support

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of system administration experience
• Experience with VMWare ESX administration
• Certification in AWS Infrastructures, S3/Glacier storage, and cloud compute services
• Experience with Quantum Stornext and SAN storage environments
• Experience with Administrate & Support Window 10, Windows Server platforms
• Experience with Administrate & Support Redhat and Centos OS platforms
• Experience with Linux
• Experience with Jira Processes and Workflows
• Experience with MS-SQL & Oracle Database Administration
• AutoCAD 2018 experience for systems documentation
• Automate processes using scripting languages such as Python and/or PowerShell
• Demonstrate strong skills in the areas of analysis, organization, and escalation
• Excellent communication skills with a cool levelheaded approach; ability to clearly communicate actions and/or next steps
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong desire to learn and cross-train in new technologies and passion to maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, working independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of a live production environment
• Team player-oriented mentality
• The job will require that you need to have the ability to remove, lift and replace equipment in server racks
• HP Synergy experience is a plus

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $56.73-75.96 per hour for New York City and Westchester County, NY. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
