JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox News is looking for a Manager of Critical Systems to be responsible for the day to day operation, support and routine testing of Fox News Media's critical infrastructure including main & emergency power distribution, generators and their fuel system, transfer switches, UPSs , batteries and switchgear. This also includes HVAC (chillers, air handlers, pumps, valves, etc.), BMS controls and fire protection systems (wet and pre-action). This position will additionally have oversight over our Washington DC News Bureau, and d irect hands on involvement is expected for many of the routine power systems
operational test s .

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure that all critical systems are operating correctly and that routine testing and preventative maintenance are scheduled/ performed on facility hardware and systems
• Specify and maintain support contracts with all MEP vendors
• Work with outside engineering firms on the design and installation of new MEP infrastructure in accordance with Fox News Media standards
• Develop annual budgets for ongoing support, replacements, upgrades and new initiatives
• Respond to critical system anomalies (i.e. power dips, blackouts, equipment failures, etc.)
• Oversee all ad-hoc requests for electrical and cooling additions in the tech centers and other facility locations
• Maintain all technical documentation including drawings, manuals, labeling, procedures, etc.
• Position requires some hands-on work with electrical and possibly mechanical test gear
• Some V/I or IR probing of electrical switchgear may be necessary to evaluate existing or evolving conditions
• Routine testing of generators , pumps and ATSs to maintain systems in a state of readiness
• Attend to status alarms

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• A 4 year degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
• General computer/LAN literacy and knowledge of power and HVAC hardware
• Demonstrated prior experience in running a comparable data center type facility
• Able to work well in support of senior management, requestors (typically broadcast engineers , managers) and vendors
• 7 to 10 years of experience in the above listed qualifications, with hands on and management skill sets
• Ability to to travel to headquarters at any time of the day or night should an emergency warrant it.

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER
• CMCO certification , recent NFPA 70E Arc Flash certification
