JOB DESCRIPTION

MarVista Entertainment, a Fox Entertainment Company, is one of the leading independent producers and distributors of programming in the worldwide television marketplace. Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, the company has rapidly grown into a global producer and distributor of a broad range of programming genres. We are looking to hire a Director of Development & Production to work independently and with the Core/Tubi team to help set up, oversee, and execute a slate of films for our indie and streaming platform pipeline spanning a variety of genres.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Source and assess screenplays, books, articles, life rights, concepts, sizzles and short form content – as well as other forms of intellectual property – in an effort to help build out and sustain a robust film pipeline
• Develop and cultivate relationships with up-and-coming directors, writers, and producers
• Collaborate with internal team and work with writers to develop ideas and concepts that are viable for the slate, buyer, and within slate budget
• Prepare pitch materials to sell concepts to various linear network and streaming partners – as well as open new business primarily in the low-budget MOW space but with an eye for series/limited series opportunities
• Responsible for independently managing a slate of films from script development to physical production including on set supervision, budgetary oversight and through final delivery of films in line with creative needs and delivery requirements
• Liaison with other departments to help facilitate negotiation around script option/purchases, director selection and or other talent deals, as well as any other support materials needed for greenlight, development/production, post-production, and delivery

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 7+ years in scripted development or equivalent industry experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint & Zoom
• Experience in independent film and television with a strong taste filter across a variety of genres
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Great attitude

• Initiative and self-direction
• Willingness to take on additional responsibility and growth as the company expands
• Strong creative problem-solving skills, above average ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure
• Professionalism, discretion, and good judgment in all interactions with co-workers and industry professionals

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• True Crime and/or Documentary development
• Network of contacts throughout the industry

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $90,000.00-115,000.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
