Social Media Specialist - RKPR - San Diego Office

LOCATION: This hourly full-time (40 hours per week) position is located in our San Diego, CA Office. We seek qualified current San Diego metropolitan area residents who will work a hybrid schedule of 1 weekday in-office/remaining weekdays work remotely (schedule is based on client and team needs).
Our San Diego Rachel Kay PR Practice is looking for a talented Social Media Specialist with 6 months + of prior Social Media work experience.
Our group works on lifestyle brands across healthy food and beverage, wellness lifestyle sectors, and technology and lifestyle clients. We're looking for an experienced Social Media Specialist to join our expanding agency team to work on these sought-after brands.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ months of prior social media work experience, a passion for digital marketing, consistently be on top of new trends, have a desire to learn and execute digital ideas, and have strong written and verbal skills. The Social Media Specialist should have a proven record of ­­­­­­­creating inspiring social media posts, being able to identify noteworthy campaigns with relevant brands and influencers, and ability to handle multiple tasks at one time. The role will collaborate with, and report to, senior leadership in the RKPR practice.

Now that we've (hopefully) sold you on us, let's talk more about this role:

Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage social media strategies for clients including the creation of content calendars and in some cases, creative assets, monthly.
• Conduct Influencer Program Management, including influencer identification and outreach, brief creation, and kit insert ideation.
• Report and analyze individual client programs monthly.
• Conduct daily community management - monitoring conversations, discussions, trends and mentions across clients' social communities.
• Assist team members with admin client tasks like taking notes on calls, presenting digital updates, and building agendas on behalf of the team.
• Collaborate with content creators, influencers, graphic designers, and other digital specialists on integrated campaigns and executions.
• Provide support in the setup, launch, monitoring, and reporting of organic and paid social media and influencer campaigns.
• Stay on top of the latest social media news, trends, and best practices.
• Execute engaging graphics and video work for both client and agency projects as needed.
• Maintain good and consistent communication with clients and team members, answering emails and Slack messages promptly.
• Meaningfully contribute to brainstorms and planning sessions.
• Passionately participate in both internal and client calls.

Qualifications:
• 6 + months of prior social media marketing work experience (internships count)
• The ability to ''wear many hats'' and transition from project-to-project and client-to-client
• A creative team player who is a natural communicator with an entrepreneurial spirit, and strong writing editing skills
• Calmness and coolness under pressure and in a high-energy environment
• Agency experience is a MAJOR plus
• Experience in and passion for graphic design (we use Canva) and/or content creation
• Flexibility in respect to the unexpected demands and needs of social media and digital practices
• Enthusiasm for social/influencer projects, passion for the work, and kindness towards all
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Creativity

Anticipated Salary: $23.00/hour to $25.00/hour. The salary for this non-exempt, full-time, direct-hire position is commensurate with experience and depending upon workplace.
