Job Description
Position Summary:
As the Sr. Manager Publishing Royalties for Music, you will be responsible for the quarterly and semi-annual royalty reporting and payment of earned Publishing royalties to clients, monitoring and maintaining all inbound and intercompany reporting requirements as well as working on ad-hoc projects as requested.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assists in the calculation and review of monthly income sources
• Analyzes and interprets contracts for Publishing Clients to ensure payment information is accurate
• Prepares and manages the quarterly and semi-annual royalty distribution statements
• Responds to and resolves any issues related to royalty payments and statements
• Maintains inbound reporting initiatives, including but not limited to obtaining/reviewing/collecting on all inbound obligations
• Accomplishes tasks on time and contributes to the team by taking on and/or assisting with special projects and ad hoc tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Music Business or related field
• Minimum 5 years’ working experience in similar capacity
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
• Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels inside and outside of the organization
• Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment under pressure with tight deadlines, simultaneously handling multiple projects
Technical Competencies
• Experience with Music Maestro or compatible royalty software
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications: Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups etc)
• Strong ability to adapt to and quickly learn new software
