Job Description
Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day and monthly reporting within Film and TV Finance department. The candidate will make a strong contribution by being actively involved in month end closing including but not limited to preparation of group submissions, sales tax and non resident withholding tax returns; working with counterparts to resolve any intercompany variances and liaising with the relevant teams for clarity on general ledger balances as well as ensuring compliance with internal controls.

Job Duties:
• Actively involved in the month-end close
• Collaborate within our division as well as confirming with counterparts in the wider group to maintain the reconciliation of intercompany accounts
• Analysis and reconciliations of relevant P&L and balance sheet accounts
• Preparation of sales tax and withholding tax returns
• Assist the team in the month end close by preparing necessary journals and completing other tasks on request
• Assist in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger
• Actively involved in ensuring compliance with internal controls
• Accomplish tasks on time and contribute to the team by taking on special projects as needed

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and professional designation
• Minimum 3-5 years working experience in accounting required
• Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, and reporting requirements
• Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Advanced experience in Excel; strong experience in MS Word and e-mail
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 an asset
• Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, multi-tasking and execution skills
• Ability to use initiative and take ownership of outlined responsibilities
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
