Job Description

Summary

The Participations and Residuals group is responsible for preparing and delivering royalty and residual payments to all third-party participants for its TV and film content. The Director of Residuals will ensure that all guild related obligations are met with accuracy and timeliness.

Responsibilities
• Handle all quarterly reporting to residual payroll companies to ensure timely calculation of residuals
• Review invoices and process payments to ensure accuracy of calculations
• Consolidate data from various sources and reconcile to GL entries
• Streamlining the current process and developing automation tools for simplified reporting
• Identifying residual obligations and working with the production teams to setup new film and TV content for residual processing
• Collaborate with the FP&A teams to update ultimates and provide models for accruals and financial budgeting
• Manage residuals team and provide guidance to develop skills for existing staff
• Maintaining guild relationships by responding to questions related to payments and setups
• Assist with residual audits and provide guidance to audit team
• Attend weekly meetings with various teams to stay informed about titles in development

Requirements
• 10+ years experience working in a studio residuals department
• Management experience preferred
• Interpret complex legal agreements and determine residual obligation
• Self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Proficient in Excel skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills with people across all levels
• Ability to motivate team, encourage growth, and promote positivity
