ROLE OVERVIEW
Across the Entertainment One content slate including Scripted, Unscripted, Film and Television, the Director of Production Accounting will oversee the day-to-day management of the production accounting function through the production lifecycle from development to wrap and audit in Canada. They will work cross-functionally with the Studio divisions including Business and Legal Affairs, Production, Corporate Finance, Production Finance, Creative, and Treasury. Major responsibilities include:

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversight of show accounting set up: bank account, GST/HST, Smart Accounting, Smart Start, Smart Time
• Responsible for development and production spend reporting to management
• Reviews budgets for accuracy focusing on union and guild rate calculations, fringes, admin costs, etc.
• Monitors payment schedules for ATL talent and solves for any contractual, withholding tax issues etc.
• Collaborates with Production Finance executives to source, interview and hire production accounting teams
• Assigns and monitors workflow of Production Accounting Staff
• Responsible for onboarding and training of the production accounting teams
• Implements, enforces and audits Studio production accounting policies and procedures on productions
• Reviews production cash flows from production accountants
• Coordinates with Treasury to perform hedging for production spend
• Monitors bank accounts and approves bank reconciliations
• Reviews weekly funding requests for approval by Production Finance Executive
• Oversee and monitor production loan facilities and approve borrowing certificate
• Prepares monthly cost report summary for distribution to management
• Attends cost report meetings escalating concerns to management
• Oversee invoicing process for contractual payments and monitor receivables
• Liaise with producing partners
• Leads transition of production accounting from development to physical production to post accounting through wrap.
• Evaluate the impact of production schedules, license fee commitments, breakage and co-production deals on production cash flow, forecast cash flow estimates on periodic basis.
• Oversees monthly production reporting such as bank reconciliations, trial balances, and cost reports to Studio finance team
• Oversee and review monthly financial schedules such as finance receivables, loan balances, tax credits and post delivery interest
• Responsible for ensuring SOX compliance oversight in productions
• Oversee and review and/or prepare production audit schedules including tax credit labour schedules and financial statements
• Point person for questions and document requests during periodic union and internal audits
• Recommend production companies for amalgamation
• Review subsequent year financial statements for tax return filing

QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with union and non-union production and guidelines in a variety of formats
• Experience with direct oversight and leadership of show level Production Accountants
• 7-10+ years Production Accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Solid understanding of production insurance, guilds and unions, tax incentives, tax compliance and
various types of production audits.
• Movie Magic Budgeting and entertainment industry production accounting software experience
required including EP Global Vista, Smart Accounting and other EP products/platforms.
• Strong excel skills a must.
