Associate Producer - Pineapple Street Media

The Associate Producer will work on a new, ongoing narrative project, set to launch in 2021. The AP works closely with the project's other producers and is responsible for a combination of creative and administrative work, from prepping interviews and cutting tape, to managing story lists and pitch emails. The AP is organized and ambitious - someone wanting to learn the ins-and-outs of larger projects, who understands the work it takes to get from good to great. This is an entry-level position for somebody pivoting to audio or with some basic audio experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

CREATIVE
• Pitching new ideas
• Research and reporting, often in support of a contributor
• Pre-interviewing and booking guests
• Working closely with other producers to cut tape and structure stories
• Preparing first draft assemblies
• Some writing, likely in concert with other producers

ADMINISTRATIVE
• Managing incoming pitches
• Maintaining an active and ongoing storylist
• Organizing tape and reporting on the project's server
• Working with legal to clear individual projects

Qualifications:

Primary Qualifications:
• 1 to 2 years experience in audio production (narrative not required, internships count)
• Comfortable in audio editing software (Pro Tools or Hindenburg preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to organize multiple, ongoing projects
• Ability to work collaboratively, with multiple people of different opinions, backgrounds and experiences
• A wide and varied set of interests, including in the process and construction of stories
• Eagerness to learn and grow in the position
