THE ROLE
The Senior Manager of Olympics & Paralympics - Merchandise, Gifting and Licensing reports to the Senior Director, Merchandise, Gifting and Licensing and will contribute to the achievement of OLE's strategic business goals as it relates to Event Merchandise, Licensing and Procurement. This role will be responsible for the implementation of the procurement strategy to ensure adherence to financial projections, fully integrated into the wider OL to successfully deliver a gifting and uniform program that enhances and adds value to each Olympic Hospitality experience and environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILTIES
• Develop gifting strategies for On Location appointed Sub-distributors and NOCs (including USPOC and BOA). Supporting both B2B and B2C programs with gifting solutions for post-sale, onsite and post-program fulfillment for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
• Manage timelines and implement processes for NOC Olympic Team merchandise to be integrated into the planning and execution of the various programs for Sub-distributors and NOCs, including establishing and managing vendor relations with NOC appointed licensees or suppliers
• Collaborate with the IOC and Paris 2024 Licensing Team on the delivery of the merchandising strategy, timelines, processes including product approvals, identification of vendors, and procurement of items
• Working collaboratively with the Workforce team, develop appropriate staff uniforms including apparel, shoe ware, accessories, with quantities and sizing. Via a competitive tender process appoint an appropriate vendor/s, develop the agreed product lines, and coordinate production and delivery to meet agreed deadlines. Delivery the uniform program on or below approved budgets, adhere to OL and Paris 2024 approval processes. Facilitate staffing order process and fulfillment of product to Staffing department onsite
• Ideate innovative, sustainable, and unique ideas, incorporating market trends, Olympic and Paralympic memorabilia, and host country specialties to curate an elevated gifting experience
• Contribute to the overall sourcing strategy through the management of procurement timeline, RFP management, contracting, vendor management, quality assurance, delivery, and payment processing
• Contribute to the development of staffing plans, training, and scheduling to successfully execute merchandise journey and distribution of the OL Team uniforms on the ground, to include full time, and temporary/on the ground staff
• Collaborate with Guest Comms to create any gift cards, announcements, or supplementary communications for gifting and merchandising
• Collaborate with Marketing on any branding or look of the Games to ensure continuity of the On Location brand in the Olympia and Paralympic market
• Collaborate with Warehousing and Transportation to collectively schedule and develop a comprehensive logistic plan to execute the merchandise journey on the ground
• Manage budgets and accounting for Gifting and Uniforms including vendor set up and payments
• Support Accounting with billing, reconciliation, and collection process for merchandising services
• Keep appropriate executives and functional area leads informed of progress throughout the strategy, ideation, procurement, and delivery process as needed
• Adherence to policies and procedures and maintenance of records in readiness for internal audits, performance, and compliance measurement ensuring a robust procurement process and competitive pricing.
• Prepare and maintain systems and or reports tracking progress of projects and any vendors or 3rd party appointed contractors, achievements, and milestones
• Contribute to post event reconciliation of all products, finalize any invoicing, enact close out procedures of the warehouse and provide detailed transfer of knowledge outlining recommendations and improvements for future Olympic Hospitality programs.

Travel
Must be adaptable with work and travel schedule and be available to travel for work which may include extended work hours during nights, weekends, and holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Fluent English required, Business/conversational French preferred
• Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality, Sports Management, Business or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience in a similar position (minimum of 6+ years), preferably in Global Events and Operations including Olympic Games and/or FIFA World Cup and/or other Global Events
• Extensive experience with the development of uniform programs, including the technical complexities of developing textile ranges – Fabrication, finishes, fit, size ratios, quality control, dispatch and finishing services.
• The ability to enter negotiations understanding both parties' needs and wants, ultimately partnering to obtain win/win results for On Location and vendor, and partners.
• Demonstrates appropriate level of technical expertise necessary to work with event bid documents and contracts.
• Experience managing budgets and processing payments
• Exceptional people skills – a collaborative style and ability to communicate effectively at all levels with strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
