Audience Development Analyst, E! News (Freelancer)

Responsibilities

E! News is seeking an Audience Development Analyst to support audience acquisition and monetization initiatives across E! News' digital and social platforms. As part of the E! News' Audience Development team, this individual will work directly with editorial, commerce and video teams on on-going reporting and analysis, as well as special projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly quantitative, but also nimble and creative, with the ability to think critically and influence strategic decision-making through data and testing.

Responsibilities
• Collaborate closely with strategy and research teams to report on monthly brand performance and audience growth, proactively using data to uncover and quantify opportunities for optimizing content, acquiring new audiences and improving loyalty
• Pull and analyze e-commerce performance weekly and monthly, delivering actionable insights to the commerce team based on product sales, affiliate revenue and editorial performance
• Assist with E! Newsletter and E! News App acquisition and retention strategy, managing AB testing, identifying new tactics and providing monthly performance analysis to review results
• Monitor paid traffic, app install and subscription campaigns, identifying opportunities to optimize ad creative and audience targeting
• Monitor daily keyword rankings and real-time search trends, communicating recommendations to editorial and commerce teams based on analysis to increase traffic
• Measure the impact of audience development initiatives, and work with various teams to optimize according to business goals

Stay up-to-date with emerging platforms and algorithmic changes; act as a trend-spotter to bring first-to-market opportunities

Qualifications/Requirements
• BA/BS or equivalent experience in E-Commerce, Digital Marketing, Journalism, Economics, Statistics or similar quantitative field with qualitative background.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on digital or social analytics experience using tools such as Adobe Omniture or Google Analytics (preferably in the digital publishing or entertainment industries)
• Experience working with SEO tools, such as Google Trends, Google Search Console, SimilarWeb, SEMRush and Botify
• Proficient in Excel, strong analytical skills, comfortable with pivot tables, formulas, and organizing large data sets
• Familiarity with newsletter, push or SMS ecosystems, such as SailThru and Airship is a plus
• Detail-oriented, organized, and practical. Multitasker who knows how to prioritize effectively to get things done
• Passion for story telling through data with an interest in going deeper and uncovering facts and the insights that tie them together
• Entrepreneurial spirit with a drive to constantly learn and grow within a nimble team who strongly believes in smart experimentation, agility, collaboration and having fun
