Associate Producer, Nightly Pop & Binge Club

Job Description

Responsibilities
Nightly Pop is a candid breakdown of the biggest pop culture entertainment news stories of the week. BingE! Club will be a weekly review series that will discuss what TV shows, movies, music, social sensations, viral videos and more that pop culture fans should be bingeing now.

An Associate Producer for Nightly Pop & BingE! Club needs to be able to:
• Complete light writing assignments
• Work closely with producers, editors, graphics, legal, and photo departments
• Pick sound bites
• Research celebrities/topics
• Organize schedules
• Assist producers on shoots and in studio segments
• Handle light field producing
• Pre-interview guests
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of editorial experience working in production, news, live formats and/or daytime
• At least 3 years field producing experience
• Must have a Bachelor's degree

Desired Characteristics
• Experience working with editors and graphic artists
• Experience writing in News or for a journalistic outlet
• Proficient in Outlook and iNews
• Strong knowledge of non-linear editing systems including Avid
• Willing and able to work flexible hours, and under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news
• Must be able to work beyond scheduled shift with little or no notice if needed.
• Must have strong knowledge of social media
• Demonstrate excellent knowledge and interest in pop culture
• Strong research skills and editorial judgement
• Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
• Strong storytelling skills
• Self-starter
