SVP, Platform Engineering

About Your Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Vice President, Platform Engineering with a broad expertise in internet and web technologies. This executive role will be responsible for overseeing the Platform Engineering department. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of modern web service and web application architecture, internet security, cloud hosting, and networking. You will guide our technology teams (including those outside of your department) towards building scalable, resilient, and well architected technology solutions that meet our business goals and exceed our customers' expectations.

About Your Contributions:
• Lead the architectural design and strategic direction for developing scalable, secure, and robust platforms.
• Oversee the development of best practices and standards in software development, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups (Engineering, Ops, Security, Product, QA, as well as business stakeholders) to align technology solutions with business objectives.
• Spearhead the research and adoption of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to stay ahead in the industry (e.g. Vector DB, Gen AI, GraphQL).
• Mentor and develop technical leadership within the team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations regarding data security and privacy.
• Drive the evaluation and selection of technology stacks and third-party services to enhance our technology offerings.
• Help drive the companies exploration of AI technologies and adoption into platform capabilities

About You:
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a significant focus on internet and web technologies.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Proven track record of designing and deploying scalable, high-availability applications.
• Expertise in cloud hosting ecosystems (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and managing large-scale distributed systems.
• In-depth knowledge of multiple software languages, web technologies, internet standards and cybersecurity best practices.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, inspire, and lead teams towards achieving technological excellence.
• Able to address stakeholder business needs with technical pragmatism
• Strategic thinker with intrapreneurial skills helping business achieve top line goals.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a knack for bridging technical and business perspectives.

Pay Range
Salary: $256,000 - $367,000
