Supervising Producer, Lifestyle

Dotdash Meredith is seeking a Supervising Producer to join its central video team. As Supervising Producer, Lifestyle you'll be responsible for planning, tracking, and collaborating across teams to deliver on video goals across the Dotdash Meredith suite of Lifestyle properties, from Better Homes & Gardens to InStyle. You will be a master multitasker and communicator, as well as an experienced production manager who can gather information from many sources to build an efficient production plan around KPIs (output, budget, views, engagement).

The Supervising Producer is a seasoned expert on the many logistics of video production – from hiring crews, to editing scripts, providing feedback on edits, and everything in between. You will help to optimize production and be the force that guides producers, shooters, and editors to bring great ideas to life in ways that are on-brand, connect with strategy, satisfy stakeholders, and efficiently utilize resources. We are looking for a natural team leader with an excellent eye for detail, a master of research and competitive analysis, experience mentoring junior team members, and a creative voice.

The central team produces hundreds of videos across many brands and platforms, so this is a unique role for a passionate producer to flex creative and organizational muscle across an exciting scope of content. The Supervising Producer, Lifestyle will oversee development and production of new series, sponsored editorial, photo shoots, corporate and marketing projects, and videos for emerging platforms. You can develop clever ideas and you have the technical skills to bring ideas to life. The ideal candidate is super creative with a contemporary sense of style and aesthetics, superb storytelling skills, an organized master of pre-production, and is comfortable directing talent and running a set.

The Supervising Producer, Lifestyle will report to the Executive Producer of Central Programming.

JOB SUMMARY
• Manage the creative video vision for multiple brands in collaboration with cross-departmental stakeholders
• Oversee multiple, simultaneous productions, budgets and timelines
• Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to respond to sales inquiries
• Shepherd projects through all phases of production including development, pre-production, production/shooting, post-production, finishing/delivery
• Lead vertical strategy sessions with cross-functional teams to create content programming
• Work closely with management to tactically support video goals
• Collaborate with video and digital teams to ideate and develop new content and ensure the best creative and production approaches are employed
• Develop & Manage complementary strategies for new and emerging platforms
• Utilize data and analytics to drive strategic vertical programming decisions
• Continually test new products, formats and production methodologies
• Prepare and present monthly brand level reporting to cross-functional teams as needed
• Solve day-to-day production challenges; foresee problems before they arise and seek fast creative solutions on the spot
• Ensure the sourcing and hiring of diverse and inclusive crew and staff positions
• Manage and mentor a team of video professionals
• Hybrid 3x a week- New York

In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Super organized and can keep teams on schedule and within budget
• Communication skills to be an active participant in high-level meetings
• In-depth understanding of engagement metrics and audience growth strategies
• 7+ years experience managing and professionally creating content for a digital publisher in the lifestyle space; bonus points for experience with home, food, and DIY videos
• Extremely knowledgeable all digital video platforms
• Ability to work independently and under close direction
• Must be meticulous, technical, organized, and creative
• Ability to manage shifting priorities and tight deadlines associated with a fast-paced deadline-driven production cycle
• Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Camera Operation, Production Audio, and Production Lighting a plus
• Bachelor's degree required
• Strong command of the English language and the ability to copy edit is a must for this role
