Software Engineering Lead

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity for talented software engineers to lead a team into building the next-generation Digital Content Management platform. This platform provides our editorial teams with many features including content creation, layouts, social media support, video, and user generated content for our consumer experiences, and is critical to the business.

Primary responsibilities:
• Business and Technical Acumen

1. Technical Planning and time estimation of new projects

2. Work closely with engineers creating internal tools to monitor and inform stakeholders of data being processed by our systems.

3. Develop robust custom modules supporting must-have features such as video, social, and affiliate integrations.

4. With an emphasis on Nest.js and Vue.js, work with in-house CMS and micro-service technologies.

5. Facilitate integration of client systems with in-house CMS platform.

6. Own production services, investigate and resolve issues, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies.

7. Create and update thorough and readable living documentation for services. 8. Participate in technical mentorship with engineers on the team by performing thorough code reviews, development syncs, whiteboard sessions and Agile daily/weekly reviews.

9. Build assertion tests and custom processes as part of continuous integration release/deployment process.

10. Provide thorough and clear documentation for all services including screenshots and screencasts to assist product and QA in testing/planning features. 11. Demonstrate passion for code quality and lead by example to produce high quality services and applications that meet timeline expectations to deliver value to the business.

12. Collaborate closely with other engineers, product, QA team members, and editorial staff to define innovative ways to identify best practices, improve services and reduce costs.

13. Participate in the developer hiring process.
• Team and Stakeholder Management:

1. Establish and develop effective working relationships with India and US stakeholders.

2. Engage with US stakeholders to build awareness regarding India talent practices, and provide guidance in talent-specific decision making.

3. Collaborate with HR leaders to implement best talent practices within the business function, to enable talent and career management, and employee retention.

Required Skills

Mandatory Skills:

1. Bachelors in Engineering (B.E./ B. Tech Degree) with 6+ years of relevant experience

2. Proficient in DERN or MEVN stack, MySQL, NoSQL, HTML/CSS/Service based architecture

3. Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript with hands on experience in Node.js frameworks like Express.Js, Nest.js and frontend technologies like Vue.js, Next.js, React.js, Angular.js

4. Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOPs) concepts and project implementation

5. Proficiency of building CMS based service-oriented integrations based on REST/JSON model

6. Experience in building REST APIs, front-end JS testing tools and UI testing techniques

7. Experience working with testing tools like cypress

8. Experience working with AWS Lambda and other AWS serverless services

9. Proficiency in Git and SVN

10. Basic knowledge of mocha chai testing framework.

11. Hands-on experience with Serverless Framework and serverless architecture.

12. Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL data stores and caching solutions such as ElasticCache/API Gateway cache and CDNs.

13. Experience working in an Agile environment to translate user stories into technical tasks and estimate effort effectively.

14. Experience mentoring other developers.

15. Experience interfacing with external teams to drive cross functional architecture.

16. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have:

1. Basic understanding of CI CD tools and Elasticsearch

2. Understanding of Agile methodology
