SEO Writer, Evergreen

Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.

The SEO Writer will work closely with the editorial director, updates editor, and evergreen editor to craft recipe, food, and cooking content optimized for search. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of digital writing experience, feel extremely comfortable using analytics to help guide content creation, and have a passion for SEO. Excellent writing skills are a must, as well as an affinity for topics in the food space. They'll be skilled at executing SEO content initiatives and collaborating with others to meet (and exceed) traffic goals. The SEO writer will tackle daily assignments, as well as long lead SEO projects.

Tasks include:
• Writing and optimizing content for Allrecipes with the goal of increasing search traffic while maintaining brand voice and authority.
• Writing and editing search-optimized recipe-related articles and food articles targeting keywords; using SEO analytics tools and independent research to produce said content
• Working closely with editorial, video, and growth teams to create new content for specific initiatives
• Pitching and writing, as well as optimizing existing content daily

80% Write and update content optimized for organic search

5% Brainstorm and pitch ideas for improving our search content

5% Maintain internal database to track content optimization and creation, working closely with updates editor

5% Collaborate with video, growth, and editorial teams to create content that supports vertical goals

5% Top edit and review content for SEO as needed

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and/or experience

Experience:
• 3+ years of digital publishing experience
• Food media experience and/or culinary background

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills
• A proven track record of creating content that drives traffic
• Experience with optimizing content for search, as well as analytics tools (SEMrush, Google Analytics and Trends)
• A strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask
• A strategic thinker who considers audience needs, growth strategy, and analytics before making an editorial decision
• Excellent people skills
• Experience with a CMS
• Expertise or interest in food is necessary
