About Your Role:

Dotdash Meredith is looking for an experienced front-end technologist, with a demonstrated track record of innovative thinking, technical mastery, and peer guidance. You will work in a collaborative Agile environment to support, expand, and enhance the financial product and service recommendations on Investopedia.com.

About your contributions:
• Prototype and develop responsive and elegant cross-platform functionality on a custom server-side component framework, built on Java but leveraging SCSS, Freemarker templates, and ES6 on the front-end, with VueJS used for more interactive components.
• Play a primary role in designing and constructing major application components
• Ensure high standards of quality by participating in code reviews, advocating for best practices within your team and without, and helping drive the identification and prioritization of technical debt.
• Monitor your applications' web performance metrics and UX best practices to ensure they meet Dotdash Meredith's high standards, and investigate issues that arise.
• Work directly with the designers, QA, and product owner in a dedicated scrum team to fully realize the product vision.
• Participate in a well-oiled 2-week sprint agile system to continuously add new features & functionality to the business.

About you:
• 5+ years of experience in Web Development with a focus on HTML, CSS and vanilla Javascript (ES6+); experience with one or more other languages. Experience with Java and/or VueJS is also an asset, but not required.
• Significant experience with at least one server-side MPA templating language - think JSP, Nuxt.js, Astro, ASP.NET, or WordPress PHP templating.
• Proven track record of working with 3rd party APIs and integrating them into web applications.
• Comfortable using the tools of modern collaborative Agile+Scrum SDLC, including Git, Jira, planning poker, etc.
• Ideally, you'll also have a meticulous eye for design and rigorously check your own work for quality and precision, even before QA and stakeholder review.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and grow as a developer.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field or foreign equivalent preferred.
