Dotdash Meredith is seeking an experienced, visionary Senior Director of Product to lead the People App-our flagship direct-to-consumer native mobile experience. In this high-impact role, you will drive the strategic vision, product development lifecycle, and performance optimization for the app, which represents a critical pillar in our transformation toward audience-first, mobile-centric media products. You will partner closely with engineering, design, marketing, audience development, and editorial stakeholders to deliver a best-in-class experience that fosters lasting user engagement, especially with younger and emerging audiences.
Hybrid 3x a week- (New York, NY)
In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

About The Positions Contributions:

30% - Strategic Vision & Product Leadership
• Articulate long-term product vision for the People App.
• Partner with the app leadership team (general manager, editorial, growth, marketing and monetization stakeholders) to define business outcomes and success metrics.
• Establish user-focused product outcomes that both serve user needs and support business goals.
• Define and continuously evolve a strategic product roadmap for the People App.
25% - Product Discovery & Delivery
• Lead all facets of mobile app development across iOS and Android platforms, from generative product discovery (deciding what to build) to product delivery (building it). This includes defining and launching MVPs through rapid post-launch iteration, as well as responding in real-time to changes in the market.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to establish a product development process that enables continuous feature delivery and innovation.
• Leverage analytics tools (Looker, Amplitude, AppsFlyer) to monitor user behavior, inform prioritization, and iterate based on real-time data.
25% - Flywheel Optimization
• Partner with marketing and audience teams to drive user acquisition and retention through targeted campaigns (social, newsletter, web banners, print, etc.).
• Identify, test, and optimize acquisition levers and campaign tactics, drawing on quantitative and qualitative feedback loops.
• Drive app optimization at regular intervals based on structured performance reviews and user engagement metrics.
20% - Leadership & Team Development
• Manage and develop a high-performing product team, including coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
• Implement development plans and structured performance feedback for direct reports to ensure growth, accountability, and executional excellence.
• Build a collaborative, high-trust culture across product, engineering, and cross-functional teams.
The Role's Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:
• Education: B.S. or B.A. required and/or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 7+ years in digital product management, with a strong track record in mobile app development and consumer engagement strategies.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:
• Demonstrated experience launching and scaling high-profile mobile products; DTC, media, or lifestyle brand experience is a strong plus.
• Deep understanding of mobile analytics, growth levers, A/B testing, and agile product processes.
• Proven leadership skills with a successful track record of managing and mentoring product managers and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to align and influence at all levels of an organization, including C-suite executives.
• A passion for innovation in the media space and a strong orientation toward outcomes, user needs, and brand integrity.

Pay Range
Salary: New York: $180,000 - $200,000
