Job Summary:
People Inc. is seeking a QA Engineer 1 with strong manual testing skills, alongside some automation experience, to collaborate with development teams responsible for core web frameworks powering one of the largest and fastest-growing online publishers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of manual testing methodologies for web applications and devices, as well as foundational knowledge of Java and Selenium for automation. The role requires working with QA managers to reÞne testing processes while maintaining high-quality output and supporting efÞcient delivery.
Roles & responsibilities
• Perform manual testing of web applications and ensure compatibility across various browsers and devices.
• Create, document, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for functional, regression, and exploratory testing
• Collaborate closely with developers and product teams to review requirements, ensuring full test coverage.
• Execute functional and integration testing to validate web applications, APIs, and services.
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand product functionality, new features, and resolve issues.
• Identify and log defects with clear and concise documentation, and work with developers to debug and resolve them.
• Track and report on test execution progress, defects, and overall quality, providing input into go/no-go decisions.
• Assist in building basic automated test scripts using Java and Selenium where needed
• Participate in peer reviews of test cases, scripts, and overall QA strategy to ensure consistency and completeness.
• Continuously seek to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes, suggesting automation where applicable.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in manual and automated testing.
• Participate in daily cross-functional SCRUMs, contributing to sprint planning, bug prioritization, and status reports.
• Identify areas for process improvements and continuously enhance testing methodologies.
• Ensure alignment with company quality standards and best practices in QA.

Mandatory Skills:
• Bachelor's in Engineering (B.E./ B.Tech Degree) with 2+ years of experience in Manual testing and automated functional tests in Java and JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with Java, RestAssured, JavaScript, and Playwright/Cypress.
• Solid understanding of testing methodologies and practices.
• Expertise in REST API automation using complex frameworks in JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience with test management tools such as JIRA or Zephyr is a plus.
• Develop, document, and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts like the test data, data validation, harness scripts, and automated scripts.
• Familiarity with software configuration management, release management, and database manipulation, like git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, etc.
• Highly proficient in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to deliver and manage deadlines in an agile development environment.
