The Transaction Team at Dotdash Meredith is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented copy editor to edit digital, ''best of'' shopping articles for Better Homes & Gardens and The Spruce. As Copy Editor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and quality of our digital commerce content across our home-focused brands. This person will have a keen eye for detail, excellent grammar and writing skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality, comprehensive, and accessible content to our readers.

This role requires not only exceptional detail-oriented editing skills but also the ability to examine content from a holistic perspective and provide constructive feedback to editorial teams.The Copy Editor will report to an associate editorial director.

Day to day, you will:
• Top edit 15 to 20 SEO-based shopping articles per week across BHG and The Spruce ensuring grammatical accuracy, brand consistency in style and voice, and content quality.
• Engage with a variety of researched and lab-tested shopping topics, including home improvement, gardening, decor, bedding, appliances, and more.
• Build partnerships and work collaboratively with writers and editors as well as our growth team to provide constructive feedback and suggestions for improving content quality.
• Manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high editorial standards.
• Organize content records in workflow platforms such as Airtable.
• Track and report on results of team editorial efforts.
• Lead and mentor a team of writers

Qualifications:
• At least 5+ years of copy editing experience in the digital space for an online publication, preferably with a commerce/shopping focus
• Strong understanding of AP Style and the ability to juggle multiple style guides
• Knowledge of lifestyle content, particularly home, garden, and food topics
• Managerial experience, including conducting regular performance reviews and setting clear objectives for team members
• Proficient in digital media metrics and tools, such as CMS platforms, Google Trends, and SEO research tools
• Comfortable with SEO and using data to guide editorial strategy
• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects at once
• Adept at seamlessly pivoting and re-prioritizing tasks as needs change
• Bachelor's degree is required for this role

Salary: $63,000 - $82,000
