About Your Role

The Verywell Fit team is looking for a Commerce Editor to edit, write, and update fitness and wellness-related product roundups and reviews. The ideal candidate is a digitally savvy editor who is equally passionate about researching health, wellness, and fitness products and creating engaging editorial content. As Verywell Fit's Commerce Editor, you'll be responsible for editing content from our network of freelancers and in-house writers, updating existing content with fresh data or new product releases, publishing new content and updates in our CMS, and sending new assignments as well as generally interacting with our network of freelance writers. You'll also help analyze the success of all commerce editorial efforts on Verywell Fit and will have the chance to help grow and contribute to Verywell Fit's social media presence on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

This role reports to the Associate Editorial Director, Verywell Fit, and requires both analytical and editorial skills to provide readers with trusted recommendations tailored to their budgets and needs. Your contributions will support guidelines for commerce content standards, ensuring that our articles are accurate, inclusive, comprehensive, and accessible.

About Your Contributions
• Assign, edit, and publish new commerce content and updates to existing content on Verywell Fit, using internal lab and home testing data to back your editorial approach
• Make regular updates to existing content based on competitor analysis, marketplace knowledge, and internal lab and home testing data
• Stay current on health and wellness trends, news, and products, maintaining close contact with public relations agencies and trusted experts
• Source and onboard new freelance writers and approve assignment briefs for our existing stable of writers
• Use SEO tools and knowledge of the brand to come up with the next big content ideas
• Use tools to monitor affiliate sales and leverage that data to inform your updates strategy of existing content
• Prioritize day-to-day needs alongside special projects, and support your team's goals while also taking into account organizational priorities and changes
• Assist in our testing process, whether evaluating products at home, writing up results, attending lab testing days, or gathering insights from testers or community members.
• Work with others on the Verywell Fit team to promote our articles on social media, creating strategic content for TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

About You
• 2+ years of writing and editing experience at an online publisher, ideally in the health and wellness space, commerce/affiliate experience strongly preferred
• Experience with SEO best practices and tools and how they relate to content
• Ability to explain complex health and wellness topics in an informed yet accessible tone
• Strong copywriter, capable of writing engaging, lively headlines and blurbs, all the while keeping Verywell Fit's voice, values, style, and audience in mind
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proven aptitude for communicating and collaborating with both remote editorial workers and in-house editorial team members
• Open to new challenges and excited to grow within a fast-paced, expanding, and constantly evolving organization
• CMS experience required
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required

Salary: $62,400 - $83,200
