Associate Online Marketing Manager, Customer Acquisition

About The Position | Major goals and objectives and location requirements
This key role within People Inc.'s Consumer Marketing team is focused on the operational execution and optimization of customer acquisition programs. Reporting to the Director of Customer Acquisition, the Associate Online Marketing Manager will provide critical support in driving magazine subscription sales across a diverse multi-channel ecosystem.
As an Associate Online Marketing Manager, you will handle the technical ''heavy lifting'' from campaign builds and trafficking to QA and creative updates, enabling senior leadership to focus on long-term growth strategy. You will help ensure that our messaging reaches the right audiences across Paid Search, Paid Social, Affiliate, Programmatic, Email, and SMS.
Hybrid 3x a week- (Des Moines, IA)
In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.
About The Position's Contributions:
50% - Campaign Operations & Execution
• Support end-to-end setup and trafficking of campaigns across Paid Search (Google/Bing), Paid Social (Meta), Affiliate, SMS, Email, and Programmatic platforms, with the possibility of working in new or emerging systems/channels.
• Execute technical campaign builds, including audience segmenting, UTM tagging, and creative uploading.
• Support the QA process to ensure all tracking links, landing pages, and creative assets are functioning as expected before launch.
• Coordinate with internal creative teams and senior marketing staff to ensure assets meet platform specifications and deadlines. Edit creative templates for ad execution and export when necessary.
• Contribute to media planning, where applicable.
25% - Monitoring & Optimization
• Monitor weekly campaign performance to ensure delivery is on pace and within budget parameters.
• Implement A/B tests (creative, copy, and landing pages) as directed by senior staff to improve conversion rates.
• Assist in the execution of Email and SMS deployments, ensuring seamless integration with broader paid efforts.
15% - Reporting & Data Integrity
• Pull and aggregate performance data from various platforms to support weekly and monthly reporting.
• Identify and flag any data discrepancies or delivery issues in real-time.
• Maintain organized records of historical campaign performance and testing outcomes.
10% - Ad Engagement & Brand Integrity
• Ad Comment Monitoring: Actively monitor and respond to comments on Meta ads to maintain brand sentiment.
• Address customer inquiries regarding subscriptions, troubleshoot common sign-up issues, and hide/report spam or brand-damaging content.
• Identify ''frequently asked questions'' in ad comments to provide feedback for future ad copy optimizations.
The Role's Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:

Education:
• BA or BS degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional training).

Experience:
• 1–3 years of experience in digital marketing, specifically within paid media execution or ad operations.
• Experience with subscription-based marketing or e-commerce is a plus.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Platform Proficiency: Familiarity with the back-end of major ad platforms (e.g., Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, or various DSPs).
• Technical Aptitude: A strong understanding of tracking pixels, URL parameters (UTMs), and the general ''plumbing'' of digital marketing.
• Detail Orientation: An almost ''obsessive'' attention to detail-you are the final line of defense before a campaign goes live.
• Analytical Mindset: Comfortable working in Excel/Google Sheets to organize data and identify basic trends.
• Communication: Ability to work cross-functionally with creative, strategy, and technical teams.
• Adaptability: Comfortable in a high-volume environment where priorities can shift based on performance data.
