Associate Editor, Verywell Health
Verywell Health, one of the largest health information sites on the internet, is seeking an Associate Editor to join our family of health and editorial enthusiasts. If you are a digital-minded editor with a strong grasp of SEO best practices, then this is the role for you!
As part of the Verywell Health editorial team, this role will be focused primarily on our drug (pharmaceutical and OTC) and supplement content. Our Associate Editor will use strong editorial judgment and SEO knowledge to write assignment briefs, edit consumer-facing evergreen drug and supplement articles, and work on content initiatives to help grow traffic.

About Your Contributions:
• Assign, edit, and publish search-optimized evergreen drug and supplement articles, ensuring our best practices and editorial standards are met.
• Use SEO best practices and editorial skills to conduct gap analysis, analyze keyword lists for content creation ideas, and create article assignment briefs.
• Understand the brand's style and edit with the Verywell voice top of mind.
• Assign articles to our Medical Expert Board for medical review to ensure accuracy.
• Partner with the editorial and SEO teams on content initiatives, such as update projects.
• Participate in team meetings to contribute to shared content goals and strategy.
About You
• 2+ years of experience editing and developing search-optimized editorial health content, preferably pharmaceutical/OTC drug and supplement content. It's a plus if you've worked with medical and clinical writers before.
• Detail-oriented and deadline-focused with solid editing skills, as well as a deep understanding of what works on the web.
• Understanding of how to use keyword research tools, such as SEMRush and Ahrefs.
• Ability to clearly and succinctly translate medical jargon and academic speak to a lay audience.
• Operating experience with content management systems.
• Flexible team player who can adapt to changing priorities and situations, with a willingness to learn, grow, and pivot.
• College degree required.

Pay Range
Salary: $62,400 - $70,000
