The DKC, Public Affairs team, covers a broad range of issue areas, including public policy, education, real estate, the arts/design, non-profit/foundations, and corporate social responsibility. The nature of the work provides a dynamic environment where team members are asked to adapt quickly to a changing media landscape while working with reporters on several beats. A little about the position:
In this role, you'll be a key player, working with high-profile clients to create innovative and newsworthy campaigns. This role will bolster a strong foundation in building relationships, working across multiple departments in and outside of the agency. It will strengthen skillsets, including work prioritization, multi-project management, meeting deadlines, and actively communicating progress and deliverables to accounts teams, all while delivering results through high-quality work.
The position is ideal for a recent college graduate looking to start a career in PR.

Essential Functions:
• Primary account team support for all communications plan development
• Market research that leads to an understanding of crucial client information, i.e., industry issues, products and services, competitors, and consumer desires
• Client service administration support, i.e., hit tracking, client status, and activity reports, attending related client meetings, compiling media reports, and client scheduling.
• Media outreach and relationship building with respective media outlets
• Being responsive and proactive on timely and priority campaigns and/or tasks
• Proficient in online social applications, i.e., Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube
• You live and breathe 'accountability' – say what you'll do and do what you say.
• You have a 'make it happen attitude – someone who is scrappy, creative, asks questions, provides status updates, and speaks to performance around vital results.

Now, a little about you:
Must be able to commute to the office located in Century City 3 days a week, working a schedule of 9 am-6 pm
• A passion for media relations demonstrated with an understanding of the communications market.
• BA or defined education in PR, communications, journalism, or a related concentration
• Ideally, 1 year of public relations intern experience, preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication ability
• Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills
• An adaptability mindset
• Strict attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft and Google Drive applications, i.e., Outlook, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.
• A strong work ethic and ability to provide high-quality work

The salary range for this role is commensurate with experience: $45k - $55k.
