Engineering Services designs, builds, and sustains technology that powers DE&E Technology's worldwide content production and distribution platforms. In doing so, they contribute to a series of cross-functional services and technologies, including Quality Assurance, Data Analytics, Software Development, Broadcast Infrastructure, and Networking & Security.

The Automation Team is looking for a Systems Engineer to provide on premise infrastructure across DEET.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement technical solutions for existing and new tools based on the requirements provided by infrastructure and development teams
• Cross collaborate with other engineers to come up with technical solutions
• Experience writing readable, succinct, and bug-free automation scripts and tools for highly scalable and highly available infrastructure management
• Ability to detail solutions in a descriptive and well thought out manner
• Resolve engineering problems involving all on-premise private cloud and public cloud such as directory services, DNS, and certificate management

Required Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or electrical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years of relevant engineering experience
• Experience in Python, Bash or Powershell scripting
• Strong interpersonal skills, both oral and written
• Experience in Agile work tracking methodologies
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Knowledge of virtual server technologies such as VMware, oVirt or others
• Cloud platforms experience building compute instances with AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Understanding of multiple operating systems; Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Rocky) and Windows Client/Server

Preferred Skills:
• Experience in API fundamentals and standard processes, and REST API architecture
• Database knowledge of MySQL and/or Mongo DB
• Experience delivering applications using CI/CD tools
• Familiarity with software development tools and workflows such as Gitlab, Jenkins, etc
• Familiarity with Software-Defined-Networking (SDN) systems in a private cloud context
• Knowledge of modern infrastructure and site reliability engineering practices, including Infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform, SALT, Ansible, etc.) and metrics and observability tools (e.g. Grafana, Datadog, etc.)

The hiring range for this position in New York is $98,000 to $131,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
