The Identity Platform organization is responsible for Recognizing, Knowing and Understanding consumers through login, registration and permission management functionality and interacts with all major business stakeholders within The Walt Disney Company.

The Identity Platform team provides critical consumer facing access, security, and identification services across The Walt Disney Company (TWDC). This includes our variety of brands like Disney, Hulu, ESPN, ABC, Marvel, and National Geographic to name a few. Nearly every digital consumer experience across the company relies on Identity Platform for mission critical business operations, including streaming video content on Disney+, booking Disney Parks and Resort vacations, playing ESPN Fantasy Football, buying products from Shop Disney and many more. These identity services are responsible for over 300 million guest and fan accounts, and billions of transactions per year.

As part of the team, you will be tackling cutting edge issues that come with cloud-based infrastructures, platform resiliency requirements, security, and data migrations at scale. These challenges are regularly given on tight timelines, and we are looking for experienced engineering team members able to make the right decisions and drive them to execution. This position will serve as a primary contributor on the team as the team navigates the changing technology landscape.

Senior Software Engineer builds solutions for problems of medium and large scope and complexity, focuses on building robust, scalable software and works under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
• Design and Implementation
• Test automation, drive quality on the platform
• Support, system troubleshooting and monitoring, debugging, and analysis
• Sprint Planning, documentation and release

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
• 5+ years of professional software development experience in highly scalable, distributed software components
• Experience collecting, reviewing, and updating requirements and/or user stories
• Experience writing technical documentation, and providing engineering deliverables
• Expert-level knowledge of object-oriented programming with an understanding of design principles
• Expert experience with Java based web services and RESTful framework
• Proven ability to trace through various services and determine root cause when issues occur
• Ability to complete assigned tasks using new or existing technologies
• Ability to participate in design discussions and determine solutions for sophisticated systems
• Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle and Agile Development/Testing practices and methodologies
• Familiarity with CI/CD methodologies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills and a strong teamwork ethic
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a cross-functional team
• Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field

The hiring range for this remote position is $142,516 to $191,180 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
